Meet Steph
Emotional resilience ambassador, motivational speaker,
and mom.
Many years of my marriage and family life were spent unhealthy and dysfunctional. Our family suffered from the consequences of untreated mental illness.
In 2017, the shock of my son's suicide jolted me into an instant awareness of the depth of darkness that we had been enduring.

We began professional therapy. I got divorced and simultaneously started on a spiritual journey of healing which included loads of reading and research. I became fascinated by the power of the mind and how thoughts and words changed the structure of the brain (neuroplasticity). I learned that Neuroplasticity and mindfulness practices were proven to reduce anxiety and depression, improve sleep and in some cases lower blood pressure , cope with pain and even increase IQ. The more I learned, the more I wanted to share.
My prayer is that by sharing what I have learned with others that they will have the desire to use these techniques emerge stronger and more resilient. I pray that through learning about this research that their confidence will increase and they will realize that they have a God given purpose. They are not helpless but with grit and intention they can affect their future.
John 10:10 says that the thief comes to steal kill and destroy but Jesus said that He came to bring life and life in abundance.
Life is a tapestry of highs and lows. Celebrate the highs, stay in those emotional spaces and enjoy them. Being grateful and thinking on what is praiseworthy and lovely is actually good for your brain.

“Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing,
Now it will spring forth;
Will you not be aware of it?
I will even put a road in the wilderness,
Rivers in the desert."

Isaiah 43:19
It is in the "valleys" that living water is often collected. Most of us would rather skip the valleys and go from mountaintop to mountaintop but it is in the "valley" where we produce new growth.

In 2020 the COVID19 frenzy transplanted my daughter and I from Southern California to Southwest Florida. It has been a welcome and delightful change. We now live with my Mom, her playful golden doodle, Lily and our loving yet often cantankerous cat, Indy.
I have been working in the fitness industry for over 20 years as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer specializing in injury prevention and rehab. In 2017 I started a business, Cultivate Life Body & Soul with the goal of having a positive influence on not only just the body of my clients but also the mind, will and emotions (soul). The evolution of this business has been beautiful and rewarding. It is a labor of love and I'm grateful to be able to experience this journey .
Many of our low times can be managed and we can simultaneously experience peace and clarity. Sometimes situations are so "low" that leaving is the safest and wisest option , sometimes we need to stay. Seek professional help for wisdom and direction.
